Inkworks Named ‘Best Manufacturer’
for Third Straight Year

RALEIGH, NC, January, 2002 -- The February-March 2002 issue of Non-Sport Update, the leading publication for entertainment trading cards, named Inkworks “Best Manufacturer” for the third year in a row in their Collectors’ Choice Awards – The Gummies. The Gummie awards, voted on by non-sport trading card collectors, are considered to be the most prestigious in the entertainment trading card industry.

“It’s incredible to be named ‘Best Manufacturer’ for one year, let alone for the third straight year by a vote of non-sport trading card collectors, “ said Allan Caplan, president of Inkworks. “It is always great and feels terrific to hear that collectors recognize and appreciate our commitment and passion for the entertainment tra
ding card industry. We strive to provide them with superior customer service and premium quality products in everything we produce.”

Additionally for the third straight year, Inkworks received the ‘Best Packaging’ award for The X-Files: Seasons 4 & 5 Display Box. “We put a lot of effort and creativity into all aspects of our products, including the packaging,” said Martha Modlin, executive vice president of Inkworks. “The X-Files display box is a unique, cigar-style box, printed with multiple images and premium holographic foil. It is a perfect complement to our premium quality X-Files cards and is a collectible part of the set.”

A new “Best Album” award category was added to the Gummie awards this
year. Inkworks swept the top two positions with Simpsons and X-Files binders. The Simpsons 10th Anniversary binder,
featuring a die-cut Bart Simpson on the cover was the “Best
Album” winner. The holographic foil printed X-Files: Seasons 4 & 5 binder was named runner-up.

“It is a tremendous honor to receive all of these awards from collectors of our products,” said Caplan. “We consider it our
responsibility as the leader in this industry to produce creative, premium quality collectibles at a good value in every item that carries the names of Inkworks and our licensed properties. As proud as we are of the awards we won for our 2001 products, we’re already looking ahead to an incredible 2002 filled with even more innovative and creative products from the top entertainment properties in the world.”

“There isn't another non-sport manufacturer out there who does as much as Inkworks does to promote the non-sport hobby,” said Roxanne Toser, publisher of Non-Sport Update. “All of the hard work paid off, as our readers selected Inkworks as the "Best Manufacturer" for the third year in a row!”
